Vineyard Ranch PTA Funded Programs:

Vineyard Ranch PTA is strictly a not-for-profit organization and relies on volunteers and financial support from Vineyard Ranch parents and our community. Greenback Giving is the biggest source of revenue used to support the wide-ranging variety of items funded by the PTA budget. During the 2013-2014 school year PTA spent almost $50 per student to operate and run the programs you know and love. We urge you to become a member of the PTA and participate in Greenback Giving to help further and fund our PTA programs below. Your dues and donations help us provide these programs for our children and support our chapter’s membership in the Texas PTA and National PTA organizations.

Here are some of the programs made possible due to your support:

ADEPT/Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week 2020Red Ribbon Week Takes Place In October
(Alcohol and Drug Education Prevention and Training) – Red Ribbon Week is a national event honoring Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, a DEA special agent whose life was taken in 1985 by drug traffickers. It is a fun-filled week of daily themes designed to support the hopes and beliefs that our children will choose to be drug-free.

Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America.

Art is an essential part of a child’s education. The PTA organizes and promotes the Reflections program which is a national PTA contest that provides fine arts opportunities for students in Pre-K through grade 12 in literature, music, photography and visual arts. We hope to provide other opportunities throughout the year that will help enhance our children’s appreciation for art.

Art – Meet The Masters Program
Picture
PTA brings Art back into the classrooms. The Meet the Masters experience begins with a multi-media assembly using Powerpoint slides, artist voices, and music where the children learn about the fascinating lives and famous works of the Master Artists. When students have a true connection to the artist, it is time to introduce the techniques which made the art revolutionary. After learning the inspiration and techniques of each Master, the students are ready for the real fun. The classroom will transform into an art studio as the well-equipped PTA volunteers lead the students on a step-by-step journey through related art project. Often in the same medium, style or subject matter as the Master, the students will discover their creativity while developing confidence in their own unique abilities. All activities will be grade and age appropriate.
